A third of our time here is gone!

I'm still alive. Gypsies did not kidnap me and make me tell fortunes after the last post. I've been busy busy with some outside writing, and as I keep saying, Finland is just too normal! This season is flying by. A third of the season has come and gone. First time in a long time that I am not wishing the time to speed by.

But have some things saved up that might be somewhat interesting. Fresh start in November.

Have to tell you about the crazy Finnish/Swedish rivalry in pretty much everything. They are ruthless!

Well they look cozy here! (source)

I had a really fun Halloween night out with the girls. Well, it was about as much Halloween as Europe gets! I'll have to share pics next week.

Remember this? Well, I didn't get surgery on my hair but they sure butchered the color. Oh how I love getting my hair done at a different place every year! It's like spinning a big wheel full of hair colors, and maybe landing on one that is not a crazy, fake shade. Lady luck was not with me this time.

Not what I look like, but it's what I feel like! If it were Prom and it were 1999, I'd be super styling! (source)

And have I mentioned that we are somewhat stranded in Finland right now?? Our passports with the new, extremely-hard-to-get Finnish Visa has yet to arrive from Helsinki. Gulp.

Also, got this amazing and beautiful bracelet in the mail. 100% of the proceeds go to help the families affected.

"On Sept 7, 2011, 44 lives were lost in the worst tragedy in professional hockey history. A plane carrying crew members, hockey personnel, coaches and players of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl hockey team went down, breaking the hearts of their loved ones near and far. In a united effort to show support for the grieving families, hockey wives and girlfriends from around the world have created this website in hopes to raise money for their dear friends"

Get yours here.

  1. I know the feeling on the hair thing. I can never get a person who speaks the same language as me. I always put my hair up anyway, so I suppose it doesn't matter. And I always color from a box...its just safer that way. Can't wait to see pics!

  6. Nice Bracelet and great to remember and help out families. Halloween is tomorrow. YIKES and I haven't gassed up my broom - gotta get that done today.
OK, Well, today is "tre" windy, like hurricane winds, rain, snow, snow and hail and more rain and more snow again. (Are we in Finland - NO ? ) We even heard thunder- crazy storm passing through - bad in some areas and thousands without electricity down in USA, where the stom hit real bad. That takes care of the weather.
1/3 gone - WOW, ltl tex, you will be back home before you know it, if the snow melts?
    Have a great day

  8. Time flies when you're having fun...Crazy how you've hit that mark already, seems like you just got there. So glad you made it out for a Halloween extravaganza, if you can't have it--bring it. You easily could have said your hair was part of the costume :)

Ugh, girl I am so bored online but keep stumbling on this texagerma--what-thing? haha! Happy Sunday!

  10. Are you going to post the hair? I never even get my hair cut by a new person, I drive the 11 hours home or wait until christmas or something because I do not like my shit jacked. You don't really have a choice though. Once as I child I was given a mullet because the lady doing my hair did not understand english well, and ever since then, I've been very cautious about who touches my head.

  11. Ohhhhh stop it, I'm sure you're overreacting about your hair. Blonde is always in style...I mean as long as it's not that silverygoldish white blonde...which I know you would rock anyways ;) You can always be like me and have three inches of growth/hope it's passing as ombre but knowing it's not! What are these shenanigans about being stuck in Finland? Oh and I'm glad the gypsies didn't steal you - I was worried. xoxo love love love love love you to the moon and back and miss you oodles of poodles and bunches. Ok bye.

  15. I hope you find someone good to do your hair...that has to be one of the hardest thing for a girl when she moves!!! I haven't had the nerve yet to get my hair cut. :/

  16. Oh man sorry to hear about your hair! I can't go somewhere in Europe. I just let my roots grow and grow for 8 months. Thank God for the Ombre look that's coming in. Mine isn't quite like that but that's what I'll call it if anyone asks!

  17. Happy Halloween! Bet your hair isn't as bad as you think! And if it is... Call it part of your costume. haha. :) Happy 200 posts!!!

  20. haha- I've had a few interesting experiences getting hair "surgery" when I was living in Madrid- it never quite came out how I wanted. They didn't really seem to get the concept of lowlights then, so I ended up with the same hair as all the spanish gals- Dark reddish purple haha. Live and learn.

  22. I can't believe you've been there three months already!! Where did this year go? I am still really envious you're over there, I would SO love to spend more time there. How's the Finnish coming along?? ;)

  23. I wanna see the hair... hehe. Mine is so terrible right now (see: facebook pictures...) I have decided to let it grow back out. The short cut was cute and all - but I miss having hair! And being able to just pull it up when I don't feel like fixing it! :) And I haven't been able to decide on a color lately - my stylist moved to California... I have these terrible roots with sun bleached ends. I'm so lost without Janine... LOL

  24. It's because of the hair ;) Soo glad you're still a member of the living! Hope you got to experience a fine Finnish Halloween.

  25. I'm sure the hair will mellow out with a bit of time! Sometimes big hair changes also take a bit of time to accept and get used to. The first time I had blunt bangs cut, I was in total shock.
