I had something funny and foreign all lined up for today, but it doesn't seem relevant now.
Sad, sad news in the hockey world this afternoon. I don't want to retell the story in my own words, but you can read it all here:
My heart and prayers go out to all the families and friends affected by this tragedy. This news makes my stomach turn and my mind race.
Life is such a precious thing, enjoy every day you have.

ReplyDeleteYeah, heard about this along with news of a bomb blast closer home :(
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... That's terrible. Prayers for their families on their way!
ReplyDeleteThe sport of hockey has been lucky up until this point - we've never experienced such a tragedy of epic proportions with all the air travel our guys are put through. I am in absolute shock over this right now... It's horrifying - and terrifying. There are no words...
ReplyDeletePlease try not to let your mind race too much dear... as hard as it may be... <3
*hugs*
I heard this tragic news as I drove into work this morning; my first thoughts were of you.
ReplyDeleteThere is so little anyone can say other than to offer prayers for those lost and the families they leave behind.
Yes, terrible news. I saw it in the news and thought of you and your hubby. Events like this are always a reminder of our mortality. :-(
ReplyDeleteThat is so awful. :(
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog but wanted to say I feel for you and the families of those that died in the plane crash. I agree with you, it's so sad when death happens prematurely. It definitely makes me want to cherish life. It also makes me want to do more to help people whose lives aren't as easy to cherish, if that makes sense.
ReplyDeletei just got home from being around town and saw that on the news and immediately thought of you and laura at "there she is"....makes me incredibly sad and just wanted you to know i am thinking of yall and everyone involved in it...families included. sometimes you really dont know how small our world really is until something like this happens and you have connections to every single person involved. my heart goes out to everyone.
ReplyDeleteMy husband just toke me about this plane crash and I thought of you. I couldn't remember if you were in the Netherlands or Russia. I'm so sorry to hear about this. Did your husband no anyone on board?
ReplyDeleteHeather From and Mommy Only Has 2 Hands!
I saw that while I was at the gym...I couldn't believe it...sad doesn't even begin to cover it
ReplyDeleteSo sad. My boyfriend just got on a plane a few hours ago and I've been a nervous wreck the whole time thinking about this story. I can't even imagine how those families and friends must be feeling right now. Sending out good thoughts and sympathy as hard as I can :/
ReplyDeleteSo very sad :o(
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Scary and sad.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all of you for your good thoughts and prayers. Although we didn't know anyone directly in the crash, it really means to world to me that you are thinking about those involved. The hockey community is a very small one and it is easy to know someone who knows someone. This affects all of us, and saddens me so much for the families, fans, city and organization.
ReplyDeleteIts weird when I read about this tragedy, I thought of you :/
ReplyDeleteA couple of weeks ago my husband and I watched a BBC film called United. Its a movie based on the true story of the 1958 Munich plane crash involving the Manchester United football club. Such similarities. Thoughts and prayers with the families
Its been a tough year for hockey... three deaths over the summer and now this. Very sad.
ReplyDeleteI saw this yesterday and thought of you. So incredibly sad... xoxo from Trinidad
ReplyDeletevery much sadness, my prayers and thoughts out to all who knew every person on that plane!
ReplyDeletevery sad,
jeremy
Oh that's so sad. My thoughts and prayers are with those families. So tragic.
ReplyDeleteMy Canadian and I saw this last night, while hanging with another Canadian in London. We are all gutted...I used to watch Pavol Dimitra when he played for the St. Louis Blues. He was one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThe Russians have been known for decades for their absolutely SHODDY safety records and I have been warned to avoid Russian planes (many of which have been around since the Soviet era). It's shameful, frankly, that their complete disregard for air safety has had such catastrophic consequences. I'm angry and devastated.
They will be in my thoughts!
ReplyDeleteThere has been so much tragedy with hockey players in the last year- even before this crash. Its so sad, and kind of jarring actually.
