Holy, Happy Weekend! Lots to do today, and so little time :) Last home game this evening for the regular season. Meeting a few of the girls for a drink or two before the game. Let's hope we actually make it to the rink before the 3rd period, haha. I am awful.
Fastnacht (Fasching, Karnival) started this week in Germany. Lots of fun stuff going on for that. Rosenmontag is on Monday, and we have our costumes ready to go. Excited to see a true German Fastnacht celebration! And for those of you who don't know a lot about Karnival in Germany, have a look here for some creepy, but interesting info :)
One quick funny thing to share with ya'll. I was driving home from one of my English classes last night (where I teach, not learn, duh) and jamming out to some cheesy German radio. I heard the DJ's introduce a 'new' song and I could tell right away that it was an Akon song. His songs are pretty distinctive. I was liking the beat, and it wasn't until I heard the word 'penis' that I knew it was not a real song. Lonely Island had fooled the Germans at the radio station, presumably because they didn't exactly understand every word of the song. So as I drove, I listened to them blare out "I Just Had Sex". Like WTF!? I was dying, it was hilarious.
It was the first time I heard the song (what? we pretty much live under a rock over here, haha) but I knew it had to be the work of Lonely Island. Love them!
So for your listening and viewing pleasure, I bring you "I Just Had Sex". Have a great weekend! After this, how could you not!?

Could you even imagine them playing this on the American radio stations?!
Ok that video was too funny...now I am late to volunteer at my daughter's school. hope the teacher doesn't ask for my reason for being late...if so, I will point her in your blog's direction!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
OMG they did not realize! ROFL.. I love that song! Happy Weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThat's way too funny- that video was on Saturday Night Live only a few weeks ago haha. It does kind of sound like a real song until you listen to the words though :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the German Mardi Gras!
LOVE IT * ahahahahah! so cool ur teaching english :D
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! Seriously, this is funny stuff!! I don't even know what I would do if I was driving & grooving to that song!! Thanks for the laugh:) Good luck to the hubs on the final home game & have fun getting your drink on;)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a fun weekend planned! I love all of those SNL spoofs although I think Jizz In My Pants and Mother Lover are my favorites :)
ReplyDeleteWe were at a wedding this fall that played The Bed Intruder song, which I never expected to hear anywhere but on my computer when I'm on Youtube!
Yeah, that song is awesome.. a friend of mine DJ's at some stupid wanna be dance bars for 30-somethings (so yeah, me) and when he plays that song the dance floor gets packed.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny - but also not a bad song!

a night with the girlfriends sound awesome! Enjoy it! whoot-whoot for drinks with the pals!
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious!!! I wish I was having drinks with the girls tonight!!! Sadly... I'm not. But maybe next week! haha.
ReplyDeleteOMG that song is SO bad. The video is pretty funny. I can't imagine any radio station ever playing that on the radio, I'd be cracking up too!! LMAO!
ReplyDeleteHahaha. That song is awesome! I like the beat. And there's no way they'd play that song here. They'd censor out sex and penis. There's a hip-hop song called Birthday Sex and they censored sex to say Shhhh. Birthday shhh, birthday shhhh.
ReplyDeleteHi dropping by from sunny Singapore. Nice blog header with the cone shaped 'buddies' as you call it.. I thought they looked more like party hats. But they're real cool :))
ReplyDeleteYou firsted FTLOB!
ReplyDeleteMan you're fast.
Nice work.
Caleb
hahaha :) that's funny :) Cheers to the last game of the season too!!! yay!!
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarous! And to think most people will never know what the song they were singing to really means. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend you have planned :) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteOh Lord!!!! You're just hearing this song now?? My drunken baboon and a few of the guys were over the night before I was leaving Hannover to fly back to MA and they would NOT STOP PLAYING THIS FLIPPING SONG on YouTube. Over and over and over until 4am. It is funny - and doesn't that one guy look like Sidney Crosby???? lol
ReplyDeleteHaha, it reminds me of the time I took a road trip with some foreign guy friends who were belting out the lyrics to "My Humps" without knowing what it really means...

Bwahahhaha! Awesome!! I heart Akon.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside (per your request...) I figured out how to add the Google friend connect widget to the www.texpatsabroad.com site. See? Us Texans married to Canadians need to stick together. So you're all set :)
omg. that makes me ROTFL. "a girl let me do it!"
ReplyDeletei'm so embarrassed that the rest of the world thinks, "sure. that's TOTALLY american!"
p.s. i'm impressed you can be out to drinks with the girls and make ANY of the game. ;)
LOL I love Andy Samberg. Punched in the face while eating is one of my favorites...did I tell you this already? Huh. Can't wait to see your Karnival pics!
ReplyDeleteCan I just say I have the best commenters....EVER! Ok, here goes :)
ReplyDelete@Tales - haha, please tell her teacher this is why you were late. It won't be awkward at all, haha
@Apfel - happy weekend too. I know, isn't a pretty good song?!
@Meri - no joke, I was jamming, like I said, until the p word came up, haha. I am scared for Germany Mardi Gras...not gonna lie!
@b.lee - well thanks! It has been a really fun job
@Sherri - Back home, I might have crashed, for real. We had a great time, plus a win! :)
@KT - they are too clever, really. I LOVE Bed Intruder, haha. But at wedding!? I bet it was funny
@The Simple Dude - Hey! I am glad you stopped by :) I can't believe they actually play that at clubs. But I can't lie, with a beat like that I'd be out there too, haha.
@melody-mae - we didn't even make it to the game, whoops! lol
@Kassi - thanks Kassi, glad you liked. And you go have a drink with the girls soon
@An Irish - it is bad, it made me feel awkward riding in the car...and I was alone!
@Angie - you're right, no way. Haha, I like the Birthday shhhh song, haha.

@Ali - nerd anthem. No joke, sometimes I am the proudest American/Texan in the world. And other times, I say I am from Canada, haha. Ummmm, didn't make one minute of the game, hahaha.
@Mollie - you didn't have to tell me that. I alreayd knew, somehow or another. Andy Samberg is my nerd crush, haha.
Hey, thanks for visiting my3littlebirds! It's my new baby and I really appreciate you commenting. Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned : )
ReplyDeleteOh, that's hella-fabulous! Now what was I saying about music lyrics? Thank you for stopping by. BTW - when "F*** You" by Lily Allen was playing on the radio in Italy last year, I thought the same thing - here half the song would have been bleeped out. God I love Europe!
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahahaha! Gotta love those SNL skits. It's hilarious they played it on the radio in Germany. Once, while in Brazil, I heard REALLY rauncy music (in English) being piped out of loud speakers at the market. The Brazilians pleasantly went about their shopping, totally unaware of the lyrics. Too funny!
ReplyDelete@My3 - well you are welcome, it is looking great!
ReplyDelete@Valerie - haha, no kidding. That and the "Forget You" song too. They just dont care over here!
@Kara - They do that a lot at the hockey games here, which are very family friendly. Hear a lot of Eff bombs! Too funny. Thanks for stopping by!

@Colie - haha, if you have to have one song stuck in your head, why not this one?!
LMBO...Nope certainly won't here that on the radio here...Kind of reminds me of the very happy Mockingbird I heard here this morning...I think he had sex too, he was too darn chipper!
ReplyDeleteHey funny lady, thanks for the little note. You're beyond sweet, I love poppin' over here because you know where it's at!
