Zombie Sunday 4/3

Zombie Sunday indeed! My only plans today are to take my book outside and fall asleep in the grass (and just hope that the goatie doesn't come by and eat my hair....again).

He tried to steal my layin' out spot just the other day. Guess goaties need to work on their tans too.

What a brat! First he tries to break into the house, now stealing my blanket!
Ok, enough with the goatie pictures, they are getting out of control!

The boys are on the road today, in the second round of playoffs. Have I mentioned that they are dragging lately?! :) Cross your fingers for a win today for them!

I finished up teaching my English classes this past week. I am sad to leave some of my students, they really were great. The lady who is moving to Texas, the one I talked about here, was pretty nervous and upset about leaving her parents and friends in Germany. I don't blame her. If anyone knows what it is like to live in a foreign country without friends and family from home, it is me. It's tough, but it's doable.

I can only hope that I helped her improve her English and made her feel more comfortable about moving to Texas. Once her and her family gets there, I just know they will see why I love Texas so much. And I can only imagine, that come January, they won't be missing Germany, or its winters, at all!

Speaking of English classes, a pretty funny commercial for the Berlitz language schools has been playing on German TV for a while now. Don't worry, it isn't all in German, so you'll get the joke :)

Pretty clever, huh?!

And finally, I am so excited for spring, because that means baseball is back! I love baseball (yes, even more than hockey. Eeek, bite my tongue!) and so glad the season is here again, wooohooo! Although it will be a, well let's just call it a, 'building' year for the Astros, I am so excited to get back home and catch a couple of games at Minute Maid Park.

Enjoying a game last year. Front row, NBD! Haha, we snuck down to take the pic.
Maybe we will even find a $10 limo stuffed with MGD and wine coolers like we did last year after the game. It is, after all, the champagne of beers. We were high rollers that night, ha.

How do you take a fancy photo in a $10 an hour limo? I am glad you asked. Fancy pants! Haha.

That's how. Lol
Last but not least, I am finishing up with my "You Never Knew It Was German" post, so that will be coming along this week.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. Now if you'll excuse me, I am off to sun my buns :)

  2. My knowledge of baseball is slim to none however a blogging buddy of mine from Cleveland has roped me into becoming a fan of the Indians!!! Have I made a huge mistake??

ps If you must sunbathe in a goat field, take a bag of carrots with you.

  3. I love it! The goat obviously needs to get its tan on, and you're the one that's interfering. Really, how dare you ;)

I've never been to Germany, but I've been to Texas, and I fell in love with it. I'll bet you're right; I'll just bet your student loves Texas, too. And just think you're the person who helped prepare her for the move!

Good luck to your hubby's team! Here's to a win!

  6. @Apfel - haha, thanks, I am taking a break right now. Dare I say, it is too hot! Haha
@Ryan - I somehow kept the goats away, they didn't try to nibble on me while I tanned. The Indians, not so bad of a choice. Better than you band wagoning with the Yanks or Red Sox. You'll love baseball, it really is the best!
@Katie - so right, that was rude of me. Maybe I should go rub some oil on his shoulders to help with the browning, haha. I hope she loves Texas, I really do! Thanks for rooting for the team!
@Andy - haha, I dunno, it is a bit much at times. Ummm, ok, I'll have to check out what you are running for!
@iZombie - haha, especially for a zombie sunday, right. Have a great one too Jeremy!
    @Mac - yuuuum brains :)

  8. Berkman got a huge standing ovation in St. Louis on Opening Day. Took a pic of him in a Cardinal uniform from behind. Looked kind of weird . . .

@Wendy - isn't it funny! They did a good job with that one!
@Theres - another Astros fan, yes! I know, it will be a difficult year. But really, winning or losing, there is nothing like just being at the ball park. Thanks for the well wishes!

  14. Don't listen to Tony.

Right now, here, it's all about the cricket. They say "the" in front of the oddest stuff. Like, you and me, we'd say "I'm going to watch cricket". (like we ever would, but I'm just saying)... They say, "I'm going to the cricket" or "I'm going to the rugby."

And then they take the "the" off of the weirdest stuff, like hospital. You and I would say "I'm going to the hospital." These cats say "I'm going to hospital."

And I get corrected so damn often. I think the next time I do, I'm going all Southern Sweet Potato Queen on them.

  17. As long as you taught her how to say "Y'all" she'll get by fine. As essential in Texas as "Ein Mal" is in Deutschland. Rootin for the hubster in Round 2.

  18. Hope you don't have to fight off too many creatures to find a spot to lay out haha!
Can't wait for the German post :)

  25. @Tony - haha, ok, you got it!
@Mollie - haha, even better. I HATE the "to hospital" one. It is always on TV, annoying. And unfortch, my hubs is really into Cricket lately. Oh joy!
@Paul - well thanks, the ones here are kinda cool :) Hope you like the new post!
@Connie - wow, nothing like selling a cookbook or two in a comment. THanks for stopping by!
@Rusk - haha, I think I said it enough for her to get the point. It is as essential as ein mal or noch ein in German! Thanks for the rooting, they won last night!
@Meri - just some bugs, but the goatie is by far the most annoying, haha.
@Jan - I thought you might enjoy that!
@thefancyflea - it is pretty good, isn't it. Yes, the goatie stayed out of my way for the most part yesterday, ha.
@Heather - deffo got enough sun for you and your family. You are welcome, lol.
@Ifs - Yes!!! Oh, the good ol days with the Killer B's. Those really were the days :)
@Johnny - no joke. I will get to see a few. More concerned about the beer and the hot dogs than the game, ha!
@Flowers - you are welcome! You have a great week too :)
