Frackin' Friday - Oh Mist!

Not only is today another Frackin' Friday, but it is also my 100th post!!

Which kind of makes me sound like a slacker since I started this blog over two and a half years ago. If you are lucky, you might find a really old post in the LinkWithin widget below.

The first year I blogged (does 7 posts count as blogging?!) it was really just to have an account about our place, the town we lived in, and a few adventures here and there. There wasn't much commentary on the lifestyle or funny things going on. And I am not even sure anyone read it :)

It wasn't until this past December that I logged back into my account and decided to start up again. I was ready to share more of our adventures abroad. And I think the timing couldn't have been more perfect.

I am thankful for this awesome community that I proudly call myself a member of. And I am thankful to all my supporters (you aren't just readers or followers in my book). You guys rock!! And after the shiztastic day I had yesterday, really, not worth mentioning, I knew I could count on more than a few of you to make me smile and to make me laugh.

So thank you for making these first 100 posts awesome. Can't wait to share a 1,000 more with ya'll!

Ok, enough sentimental stuff. Wipe away those tears, I know, not a dry eye left in the house. And get ready for another awesome German cuss word!!!

Today's pick, and I have no idea why I waited this long to do this one:

Mist
(yep, just like the English word 'mist')
It is used like: "Crap!" or "Shoot!" or "Damn!"

And it gets even better when you start to think of all the products in the English speaking world that include to word 'Mist'.
According to review sites, this movie wasn't really all that crappy :)

Agreed, Sierra Crap would be a better name for this sugary mix.
Is this stuff even still around!? (source)

Oh, she is misting all over her face. How embarrassing!

There are just so many for this one!
You might say 'Mist' as you are told you have to go on the Maid of the Mist cruise.
Might say it when you see what cool ponchos you get to wear on the boat.
And might be thinking  'Oh Mist' when you realize those stylish raincoats did nothing to protect you against Niagara Falls.

Well there you go, add it to your rapidly growing list of German cuss words you can use in just about any situation.

If you missed any of them, you can check them out here.

As for tomorrow, I am looking forward to telling ya'll about my blogging injury. Oh yeah, its real. And I also have a funny graph to explain to everyone why my blog has been somewhat successful :)

Have a great Friday ya'll!!

  3. Morning Tex! Sorry to hear about your craptastic day yesterday :( That's total mist...

    :D

So Finals start for Hubs on Sunday, no? If I am translating his team's website correctly... haha! Do they usually stream their games live online?

Game 2 for us is tomorrowwww... I don't know if I'll live if we make it to the finals - or even to the 2nd round! I get all kinds of stressed during the playoffs too. I'll have a mocha vodka xanax latte please! STAT!

  6. Happy 100th post day!!! Sierra Mist...what a perfect name for a perfectly craptastic drink. Wonder how you say craptastic in German? We'll go with Mist-tastic for now.

Hope your day today is much better than yesterday. It has to be it's Friday...and Frackin' Friday at that! Oh, and I can't wait to hear about the blogging injury. You've left us with a cliffhanger!

  7. OMG, I am dying to see the graph! Where is the graph, woman???

And p.s. I am going to start using MIST like crazy up in this piece. I mean, when you have to watch your mouth around the chil'rens, there is precious little one can say with vehemence. Such total mist!

  8. Oh holy Mist it's your 100th post!! Go on with your bad self.

Fr-fr-fr-frackin' it up! The graph of your awesomness can that even be organized into a full on structured picture? Can't wait! Btw, I'm totally ruling out carpal tunnel on your injury since you're typing and all. But hope you have a super radical bandaid covering up your boo-boo.

Have a fabulous rest of your Friday!

  11. @Katie - haha, oh yeah, nothing like a blogging injury cliffhanger. And yes, that Sierra Mist is nas-tay. They would definitely refer to it as mist-tastic over here, haha.
@dweej - gotta love a good graph or two, lol. Hey! Perfect usage for the word. Now your kids will just be saying it all the time at school, but hey, no one will know! :)
@Morgan - Oh, I'm going :) hahah, that made me laugh. Nope, no carpal tunnel syndrome yet, but you are close. And you are right, I totally need a kick ass bandaid! Have a great Friday yourself!
@Melissa - thanks for stopping over! Awesome, way to incorporate it :)
@Oilfield - well thanks! Is it all downhill from here?!?! :)

Oh, I have plenty of people I can refer to as Misty. If that makes a word. I have a hard enough time with English.
