Zombie Sunday 2/6

Happy first Zombie Sunday in February! There are only four this month, so gotta make the most least of them!

This week flew by, can't believe how slow the time can seem at the beginning of the season and how quickly it seems to run by towards the end. The hubs is down to single digit games left in the regular season. In no time, playoffs will be here. Then the real fun starts!

Although the week went fast, I had quite a bit of time to work on some blogger designs for the winner of the Blog Header Giveaway, Food Floozie, and for some bloggyland friends, like OK in UK. Yep, that's right, I am a self proclaimed dweeb. I have blog friends. But, I am really pretty pleased with how the designs turned out, and unless these gals are lying to me :), they seemed to be pretty pleased themselves. It was so much fun to do, that I am thinking about turning it into a little side business. New page and info on that coming soon!

Probably what a gathering of blog friends would look like, haha

And, as for Project: Do Me, I have pleasantly surprised myself and managed to make good on all my daily and weekly goals. Now to work on my monthly ones !

While most of the states were covered in snow this past week, we've been really lucky to have absolutely gorgeous weather here! So thanks to all the North Americans for taking our weather and giving us a bit of relief. Really though, it has been beautiful; sunny and in the 50s this whole weekend! I will keep my fingers crossed it will last (but I won't hold me breath!). And if spring is even this nice, I will be one happy camper in March and April. We even headed out for a walk this afternoon, something pretty rare for the hubs...especially on a game day. And then we tossed around the pig skin a bit. You know, in honor of Super Bowl Sunday!

Seid Ihr soweit für etwas football??!
Doesn't quit have the same ring to it as "Are you ready for some football??!"

Speaking for the Super Bowl, the team arranged a mini team party at a local restaurant. They agreed to stay open late - since the game doesn't start til around midnight - and show the game. Pretty nice huh?! But of course there's a catch. It won't be from a British Sky feed, it will be straight Deutsch. Should be, hmmm, interesting. I am very curious to see football commentary in German.

Because of the warmer weather, I was able to venture out for a run. I haven't seen the running trails around here in a while. I am what you would call, a fair weather jogger. Besides it being a bit muddy from the thawing, it was awesome! It felt good to get off the treadmill and back into nature.

Although, I was running through this forested side trail and came upon a small pond, completely overgrown with algae and looking pretty swamp-like. Logically, my first instinct was to panic and think "Alligator!", because that is obviously something you have to watch out for in the deciduous German forests. Yeah. Right. Nice one. I guess you can take the girl out of East Texas, but you can't take the East Texas out of the girl :)

Last but not least, I have another addition to my American Junk Food in Germany post. The hubs and I had good ol' fashioned hamburgers last night. Of course I had to get American style buns at the store, which were easily identifiable by the huge American flag on the packaging. Gotta love it!

Oh, and our burgers look waaaay better than that mess on the packaging.
What is wrong with that bleeding burger??

  7. It was not even a question for me as to if I was going to a school that was semi-big on football. Being a SOONER fan for a majority of my young adult life, it was either here or somewhere else that football was a big deal :)

I don't regret it much anymore, but like I said I wish I had made it for the right reason.

ps thanks for noticing the new signature. Yes it is new, I just created it last night :)

Hope you had a happy Sunday!

  13. I love how burger buns are stamped with an American flag here in Germany! Sometimes you need a good 'old American cheeseburger on a good 'ole American bun. Thanks for the comment today!

  15. I would love to hear some football jargon in German. When I left Germany I did not even know about football. Now I am total football nut: University of Tennesse, Colts, and Titans fan...
Maybe you can give some examples :)
